We aim to provide the community with nutritious food, healthy environments, social justice, economical and enriching experiences.
UCAN is happy to be able to offer food boxes to our Brunswick County senior community aged 60 years and over. Food boxes will be delivered monthly to your homes free of charge. Please follow the CSFP Income guidelines on the right in the flyer. Please call us with any questions you may have. All adults in the household can sign up to receive the food box each month.
The event provided free drive-through COVID testing and food for those in need. UCAN coordinated several similar events in 2020, one of which also included voter registration.
With partners, UCAN distributed free COVID care packages that included PPE, masks, and other supplies. For those in need, the packages also included food from the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.
UCAN partnered with Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church to prepare students for a positive and successful school year. The event included workshops, food, and an inflatable water obstacle course.
In partnership with the Marie Holmes Foundation, UCAN led a 2-night trip with visits to the National Mall, Capitol, White House, and National Museum of African American History and Culture. The trip aimed to provide new enriching experiences for North Carolina youth and families. UCAN offered the trip at a discounted cost of $50-$100 per participant.
